OF MATTERS PERTAINING SALVATION-PART TWO

It was a serene day, a special day in fact. One of those days where the silence is deep and beautiful. He looked down and He was pleased. The day breeze blew gently and rustled the trees. The birds above flew gracefully creating a streak of assorted colors as if they were on display. A river flowed, watering the garden and there it divided into four. Pishon, it flowed around the whole land of Havilah, the land of gold. Gihon flowed in the land of Cush and there was Tigris and Euphrates. Everything about the garden screamed serenity and perfection. The beauty was profound yet simple all at once. The kind you gaze at and get lost into. The kind that is…tangible! Then HE, the containment of goodness and love spoke. HE so desired that They create a creature, not like any other created. The creation would be special, most dear to the heart because he would be made from the very nature and likeness of HE. Special because he would interact first hand with his love. Ever so carefully, HE picked the dust and molded his shape, gently curving his features and keeping in mind all he would need to survive. Then HE breathed life into his nostrils and man became a living creature. With the very nature of HE etched in him. After a while, woman followed. Bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. One unit. Beauty had branded them and Beauty had a plan.
Growing up, I never once thought that there was a purpose of salvation. I thought that salvation was the element, the IT factor that made Christians good or that made them do good things. It was never mentioned or taught that God has a plan so my thoughts were misdirected. A lot of us are missing out because they don’t know. Part two of this series is meant to let you know, God has a plan. It wasn’t out of boredom that God decided, “oh well, let’s put soil to use and make several mini-me’s.” No, God had and still has a plan for mankind. So mankind fell and his sins had to be paid for. God then CHOSE to sacrifice his son for our sins. Salvation was not a plan B. God saw fit that Christ die for the atonement of sins and He died. Our sins were forgiven and all that was required of us was that we believe, confess and accept Christ as Lord and we are saved. So the big question becomes what next?
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Different people at the time of salvation got saved for different reasons. A lot got saved to avoid hell, others for material gain. Don’t get me wrong, am not condemning anyone am just saying think with me. If we got saved just to go heaven, we would dramatically ascend to heaven immediately we accepted Christ as Lord and Savior (with angels in the background singing glo-ooooo-ooooo-oooooria). Well clearly this is not so, to mean there is a bigger picture. Going to heaven and the blessings are just added ‘benefits’. They are not the real deal

ROMANS 8:29-30
BIBLE THE MESSAGE
God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun
NKJV
For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called he also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified.
God had a purpose for salvation. The Bible shows us that up until we die we are;
1. In a constant process to be one with Christ. To be transformed into Christ’s very image. The word image in this context does not necessarily mean physical appearance. It translates to nature; nature in this context refers to character, quality, and temperament. The likeness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-16
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.-NKJV
2. We are to operate in the fullness of the nature of Christ.
When we got saved we acquired the nature of Christ as in 2nd Corinthians 5:17, we become a new creation. God then desires that we begin to operate in our new nature.
THE HOW
Romans 12:1-2 The Message (MSG)
Place Your Life before God
12 1-2 so here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.37K2CAQNLIBNCA1GJEGDCA3631P3CA5SX9YGCAV9A1ECCA2FT8JYCABYYUB9CA90XQPPCAX7Q1SDCA67LERQCATA095TCANQJ7K1CA24QRH4CA87BXEFCABH8NJYCA3A15FWCA1YMM3WCAPTKM81CAZ05TNJ
The way to be transformed is by renewal of the mind. Renewal of the mind means acquiring a new set of beliefs and thoughts. It means getting into your mind and deleting files that need to be deleted and downloading and installing new files. It means synchronizing our thoughts with that of the Spirit of God. The mind is the hub of all thoughts. If how we think changes we begin to operate in a different way. We begin to see things in a different light.
Now our mind cannot change by itself. We have to be intentional about our transformation by interacting with the Word of God, by fellowship and by prayer.am not promising that it will be easy, actually am telling you that it won’t be a walk in the park. There will be struggles and there will be a lot of things that you will contend with. There will also be days when you feel there is no growth. On other days you will feel like giving up. What I can ascertain is that because He instructed us He has put the ability in us. Not by might or works but by grace. God will be at work in your everyday events. That when you pass through the waters He will be with you. That He will never leave you nor forsake. I can also ascertain that you will be confined by the walls you build yourself. That Gods No is not rejection it’s a redirection and most important God loves you.
Don’t be deceived, it’s not a pity-party. God has crazy amazing blessings in store for you along the way. We are meant to reign from glory to glory. God never lets go of our hand not even once, we are the ones who forget whose hands we are holding. Beauty has branded you. God loves you.LS1QCAZCW1GUCAN1FQIRCAH5KS88CAXUXLP7CAOL1B68CA1WWPZ5CAFQ0J68CAHG7PT4CA5TU4GHCAGUFW3YCAINYXPBCA0Q1Z0YCAFO4RBJCAXJ5C9KCAU0KTC4CA3478C2CAGKBSARCAVGFV29CALAOLVY
